Frequently Asked Questions
Do you hire employees outside of Chicago?
Yes! This position can be 100% remote. We’ve built a structure that allows fully remote clinicians to thrive while still benefiting from everything our practice has to offer. Plus, you can take your job with you—wherever you go.
Are you remote, hybrid, or in-person?
Most of our team works in a hybrid model, splitting time between virtual and in-office sessions. We also have Chicago-based therapists who work fully remote. The choice is yours!
Are employees at Optimum Joy W-2 or contractors?
All of our clinicians are W-2 employees.
How long does it take to build a caseload?
It depends on your specialty, schedule, and whether you offer in-person or virtual sessions. That said, we actively maintain a waitlist and run paid marketing to ensure a steady stream of incoming clients, so you won’t be building your caseload alone.
How quickly does your office get paid on insurance claims?
Great question. This is especially important for commission-based employees. We prioritize billing claims within one business day of a session. While occasional complexities arise, the majority of our claims are paid out within six business days.
How often do employees get paid?
We process payroll weekly so your hard work turns into a paycheck fast.
Outside of clinical sessions, what other work or meeting requirements are there?
Weekly: Group supervision
Monthly: 1:1 case management coaching with your team director
Quarterly: Staff meetings
Ongoing: Weekly clinical documentation and occasional content collaboration to help market your expertise
How does your office support work-life balance?
You set your own schedule and client load.
We prioritize rest, closing December 24 through New Year’s each year.
What’s considered full-time at Optimum Joy?
Clinicians averaging 22+ sessions per week are considered full-time.
What EHR platform do you use?
We use Simple Practice for all clinical documentation and scheduling.
